Press release parade: "Zeeks Pizza Media Dinner Invitation"
Interesting to note that the url "www.Zeekspizza.com" at the bottom of this press release links to "tulalipresort.com" instead. Hard to find good PR help these days.

Hi [Seattle Media Person],
Zeeks Pizza, a company born on the dream of serving Seattle-style pizza in a place where neighbors can gather and dine with family and friends, invites you and a guest to enjoy a night of pizza and beer/wine pairings with founders Doug and Tom.

The “Pizza Dudes” are pretty excited about their recent expansions and want to celebrate the New Year and what’s to come in 2010. Pretty much everything that has shaped their business has started with an evening of pizza and beer. Who knows, you might help spawn the idea for the next best seller while discussing Zeeks’ mission of world domination…OK, maybe not, but it’ll be fun. Its pizza and beer for crying out loud!

Digital sweatshop alert! A Belltown-based company wants a digital artist to use a tablet and Photoshop to create elaborate illustrations "in about a day."

Digital Illustrator - Full Time - Fine Art Background - Sweet Job!! (Belltown, Seattle)

You know what sucks worse than having to show up at a job working for someone else churning out low quality schlock commercial art day after day? Working for a husband/wife team. Especially one describing themselves as "younger." Oh, and you'll have to kiss their dog's ass, too.

"You must be deadline driven, a team player with a positive, easy-to-work-with attitude and enjoy a small company environment. We are an energetic office in lively Belltown (downtown Seattle), run by a younger husband-and-wife team, with an office dog."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — March 12, 2009

OLYMPIA — Legislation to crack down on the rash of puppy mills and mistreated dogs that has surfaced in recent months passed the Senate last night. Currently, neither state nor Federal governments currently regulate puppy mills.

“This is nothing less than animal cruelty,” Kohl-Welles said. “Too many dogs are subjected to inhumane conditions, are malnourished and forced to live in their own waste without proper veterinary care.”

Senate Bill 5651aims to eliminate “puppy mills” by regulating the commercial dog breeding industry with common-sense restrictions on the number of dogs — 50 non-neutered dogs over 6 months — and the conditions under which they live. These regulations include providing clean food and water and allowing dogs to leave their cages for at least an hour of exercise each day. The measure passed the Senate on a 35 to 11.

The bill applies to those with more than 10 non-neutered dogs older than 6 months that are kept in their...

Update: 12-13-2008 9:00PM

I can't think of better timing than to have the Christmas Coat Lunch on the day of the first winter snow in Seattle, with record freezing temperatures. I'm not a religious man, maybe slightly Catholic in a bad way, but I think Mars Hill has been blessed here. Brilliant scheduling. See new photos.

"We had a very good day today. It was good to build relationships with many in the community. We ended up serving 457 lunches and handing out 350 coats." -Tim @ Mars Hill
