I can't think of better timing than to have the Christmas Coat Lunch on the day of the first winter snow in Seattle, with record freezing temperatures. I'm not a religious man, maybe slightly Catholic in a bad way, but I think Mars Hill has been blessed here. Brilliant scheduling. See new photos.

"We had a very good day today. It was good to build relationships with many in the community. We ended up serving 457 lunches and handing out 350 coats." -Tim @ Mars Hill

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MARS HILL CHURCH DOWNTOWN SET TO SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER TO SEATTLE’S HOMELESS AND NEEDY

SEATTLE – On Saturday, December 13, from 11am-3pm, Mars Hill Church’s Downtown campus will host the 1st Annual Christmas Coat Lunch. Mars Hill Church and numerous other downtown community partners, such as Union Gospel Mission, Bread of Life Mission, and New Horizons Ministries will serve lunches and pass out warm coats and hats to hundreds in the homeless community.

Since transforming the notorious Tabella Nightclub into a church in March, Mars Hill Church has been actively involved in community events and has become the largest attended church in downtown Seattle.

Tim Gaydos, Mars Hill Church’s Downtown Pastor, commented, “We hope the refurbished nightclub will reflect the best of Seattle’s urban culture—the music, the art, the community, the diversity, but most importantly will serve as a place of hope, not fear, during incredibly turbulent times in our nation’s history.”

Sunday services at Mars Hill Downtown (2333 Western Ave) take place at 9 a.m., 11:15a.m. and 6 p.m. Parking validation is available for the Art Institute garage.

About Mars Hill Church:
Mars Hill Church is a non-denominational church that meets in seven different locations throughout the Seattle area, with twenty weekly services broadcast via satellite from the flagship campus. In 2008, Outreach magazine named Mars Hill Church the second-most innovative church in America. The church began in 1996 as a small Bible study in the home of founding pastor Mark Driscoll. Today, over seven thousand people attend Mars Hill on a weekly basis, with millions more accessing free sermons, music, and other resources through the church's extensive Internet library.
